Joe colombo (myself) got in touch with electronic music at the age of 15 listening to Hip Hop. Going to artschool his drawings changed from still life pictures to sketchbooks filled with graffiti. Being a dj for some 2 years, the rockmusic he used to play with cd's in the local youghtcentre and café 'het wiel' in roeselare (where he took his first steps as a deejay :) changed to buying and playing lots of hiphop vinyls. Eventually joe only left his bedroom/studio (where he rocked his very own set of turntables) to go out and buy vinyls and on occasion go to school.

Heroes at this time were (and still are) Lefto, Grazz, DHL, Jasta, Common, Jay Dee, Slum village, Jurassic 5, Looptroop, Big L, BIG, Mos Def, Wu Tang Clan, and so on and so on...

The daytime drawing became nocturnal and painted the dark streets bright and colourfull with loads and loads of spraypaint. Also the daytime producing and turntablism practice was blinded by the lights on several underground parties and festivals.

The summer of 2007 brought some exciting changes to the (turn)table. Over the years, a growing interest in electronic and house music (like Daft Punks 'homework') made a switch in personal music interest enevidable. Groups and producers like Justice, MSTRKRFT, Dj Mehdi (he also makes electronic music!?), Boys Noize, SMD, A-Track (on tour with Kanye West whom he saw at AB Brussels and was soooooo fuckin' good, he also makes electronic music!?)were the first of many to draw joe's attention...

At the beginning of 2008 Joe Colombo started buying more and more of these records and participated in a demo contest that lead into playing a gig at the infamous 10 Days Off Festival in Vooruit Ghent, where he shared decks with Sound of Stereo and saw Busy P, MEHDI!! (personal hero : ), Feads, The Subs, and The Waxdolls rockin the rest of the night from te backstage ... Since then he played on occasion at Ghent's local radiostation Urgent.fm.

Nowadays Joe Colombo plays a mix of house, electro, techno, fidget, dubstep and even some rock and hip hop! Be sure that seeing this guy play live is a night full of skullbreaking beats, rolling basses and sweaty, trash lovin' partypeople. Some of his personal heroes nowadays include AC Slater, The Proxy, Crookers, Armand Van Helden, 2 Many Dj's, Hervé & Sinden, Heavyfeet, Chemical Brothers, Felix Tha Housecat, Steve Aoki, and so on and so on...
